Vienna

- Date Adopted: November 26, 2023
**UPDATE – Vienna has been adopted! She travelled to Canada on our MJET Freedom Flight on November 26th and has found a new home thanks to the generosity of our amazing friends here at MJet Barbados and our wonderful rescue partners in Canada.
Vienna was rescued with her five siblings (Valen, Vera, Vernon, Vada and Virgil) when they were tiny puppies. As puppies they were all quite shy. Sadly they were not adopted as young puppies. Now only Vienna and Vada remain unadopted, the others are all doing well in their forever homes.
Vienna is very happy in her environment with her dog friends, but she is timid when asked to live in a house. She has been fostered for a few weeks, it was a home that had open doors and a big garden – Vienna chose to stay in the garden most of the time. She would be best suited to a ‘closed doors’ type of home with a good routine, regular walks, and a home with another calm dog. At this stage she wouldn’t appreciate excitable children, she just wouldn’t know what to make of it and it would probably be too much for her – although to see her playing with her dog friends, it’s clear she does like her own kind of excitement and knows how to have fun!
Vienna is always pleased to see us, but she is used to us and Ocean Acres is mostly all she is familiar with. She likes her toys, and will pull them to pieces.
Once Vienna is on a lead, she walks nicely. She’s had days out at the beach and lots of car rides. She will take to time to get out of her habit of not actually coming to her humans. Because of this, great care would have to be taken to not lose her, at this stage, she would not come back. She should be fitted with a GPS tracker just in case and always have a good fitting martingale collar.
We so hope that someone will take on Vienna and help her to reach her full potential. Through no fault of her own, she didn’t get the assistance she needed at that very early developmental stage. We really think in the right environment, with the right structure, she will learn that humans can be engaged with and are lots of fun!
Vienna is approximately 38lbs
