Nyra

- Date Adopted: November 26, 2023
**UPDATE – Nyra has been adopted! She travelled to Canada on our MJET Freedom Flight on November 26th and has found a new home thanks to the generosity of our amazing friends here at MJet Barbados and our wonderful rescue partners in Canada.
Nyra and her siblings (Nash, Natalia, Nathan, Neil, Nixon, Nora and Nancy) were found by one of our volunteers in May 2022, when they were just weeks old and new to the world. Our volunteer had spotted them, looked around and watched for Mum but sadly she couldn’t be found, and they were clearly in need of help. Not unusually, they were a mess, covered with fleas. At first they were very timid, but after they were cleaned up and fed, they began to feel safe and wanted to be friends. This was clearly their first night of comfort.
Too much time has passed and they have sadly not been adopted. All they have known for a long time is Ocean Acres and our staff. Recently Nyra has been fostered. She has settled into her foster home with 2 other dogs really well. She was a bit shy at first, but is coming around very quickly. Nyra would be best in a home with at least one other dog. She walks really nicely on a lead and is learning fast about the joys of living indoors!
Nyra is approximately 32lbs
