Alana

- Date Adopted: November 24, 2024
Alana had been living on an industrial park for a long time, over a year. Many people had seen her, left her food, but no one could catch her. At some point she was hit by a car and was seen limping badly on a back leg. When we found out about her, we also tried to catch her. Alana would wag her tail, be pleased to see us, would eat our food, but wouldn’t let us near. She clearly had learned to be wary of people. After a long time of winning her confidence, she was finally caught. She wasn’t happy to abut it at first and was really scared. We took her straight to the vet clinic where a x-ray showed that the damage to her leg was irreparable and that she would need an amputation. She spent some time at the vet post op and then came to Ocean Acres.
Alana is now the happiest girl. She has lost a leg, but gained her confidence and enjoys being around people. She is gentle and kind and would be a loving addition to any home. She is learning the benefits of being close to humans. Alana enjoys the company of other dogs of similar energy levels, she is gentle and best suited to calm dogs that aren’t too boisterous. It really is time this girl caught up on all the love she’s missed.
Alana has been adopted in Canada!
