More About Cassie

Cassie was seen on the streets of Oistins for a very long time. People watched as her belly got bigger and bigger with puppies time after time; but any attempts to rescue her failed. One day we got a call from someone who was renovating a building, to tell us she had given birth inside the construction site.  It took all day and a lot of patience, but Cassie was finally rescued that day.

Cassie was brought in with her one day old puppies, where she was kept in a safe and clean environment to raise her pups. She was very nervous and had never been handled or touched by people.  We did everything we could to ensure Cassie knew she was safe, loved and well cared for while she took care of her tiny little puppies.

Now her pups have grown up and found their forever homes, yet Cassie is still here. We have been working to gain her trust and get her to come out of her shell with great success.  Cassie is still a little nervous of new people but is showing signs of constant improvement. She enjoys her walks and her playtime with other dogs. We have seen no aggression in her at all (even when she had her puppies).

Cassie has learned to smile.  Now she knows the life can be fun and she is finally able to relax.  She has come so far.  We are so proud of her.

UPDATE

Cassie’s foster mum says:
“She’s doing amazing! still shy and likes to take things slow, but she is coming along so nicely in just a week. I’m soooo proud of her. she saw a great Dane walk by today and was mesmerized, but still stood on her front porch with loads of confidence! she is such a sweet soul, not a mean bone in her body.”   Congrats Cassie!
